Tiyani Mathebula got serious about his football career at 16 years old.He was an track and rugby Athlete back home in Nelspruit.He also had colours for MP in track and long jump.His heart was always into football ever since,he was an player escort in the 2010 World Cup.At the age of 16,He left home and went for Tuks Sport Academy to improve and compete against Big teams in Gauteng.He told us,was always a very active child and he loved playing sport.The Tuks Left winger happily said, his Family always encouraged him to keep playing, because he showed signs to be amongst the Best players.His Aunt (Nodah) was the one who got him initial in Football. Hinted ,she explained the rules to him and they would watch PSL games together on Wednesdays and weekends.Explained that is where it all took of according to him.Tiyani mentioned, the main aim for anyone is to make money from what you love doing. Now his aim is to enjoy every moment and reach his maximum potential. He faced many Challenges, but the ones that stands out are,how to keep positive and motivated when you are not part of the plans,how to deal with rejection and criticism. Lastly would be to not try and impress everyone but focus on your game and let talk ne talk.
Lessons he picked up during his football journey, said know what you want and stick with it,don’t try and be an apple when all of you are is an Orange. Another one is,look after your mental health and all will go well.The most important lesson is that,prayer is the most important thing ,also need to ture their dreams into reality. Other Tiyani s’ plans ,going pro after 3 years of Academy Football. Regarding Tuks environment explained, the environment is very flexible and accommodating, also to be a student there is very helpful for him.He still atbthr to the same team.Changes, he would like to see in South African football, said the buying and selling of the clubs must end.For him,encouraging words for upcoming youngsters, illuded great players who keep on staying great because of hardwork and discipline. Also insisted not in football only,but in life general and all other sports.His aim for the next 3 years is to win a continental trophy with the National team (Bafana-Bafana,South Africa). Tiyani s’ Best Mentor/Coach ,is Coach Van because he showed him the most amount faith.According to him doesnt have supporters ,because he try to learn from everyone and add to his game.Thoughts for players out there,highlighted if you are gonna fear anything, fear no reaching your full potential.
