Pako Mahaabo S’ Interview

Pako started his football career when he was just 8 years old.He started playing for a local team called The “The Bafana’s Fc.He was an athlete at that time and was spotted by a local person (Ta Zop-zop may his soul rest in peace) who advised me to joined the team. The rest is history. Told us his father (Lucas Mahaabo) owned one of Welkoms local amateur teams (Continental Fc),He would accompany him all the time and soon enough, he became interested and decided to be a player himself. What he learned during his football journey ,said football is not as easy as people think,you need to work hard as well as to interact with other team players,you need to remember that you aren’t only playing for yourself but for your team and supporters.When he grew up ,always wanted to become a professional soccer player.particularly for Kaizer Chiefs .He still believe that this is going to happen. He believe ,he will one day and win trophies for Kaizer Chiefs.Regarding football development in South Africa ,he would like to witness the u23 rule change. Insisted there is this retirement trend of players who above 23 years ,this is particularly because the industry believes that they are not as capable. In contrast, he believe that their soccer experience, expertise and maturity is exceptionally enough to develop the professional soccer industry.
Apart from the cultural and social challenges of playing in another Country (Swaziland), the age perception has always been a Challenge .As soon as your leaders know you are above the age of 25,it automatically becomes a challenge to become accepted and trusted with your soccer expertise and skills. Pako ,happily told us Mesut Ozil his favourite football idol,compared himself with him ,because both using left footer,also was inspired by his charity works and how far he seems to go to in order to contribute to the lives of other soccer players and his community.For his achievements ,in 2011/12 promoted castle team Dinonyana Fc,2012/13 promoted ABC team Maluti Fc.According to him his best mentor in football is Coach Takor Gaston,highlighted to us he always pushes him and tells him that he won’t give up on him until he go back to play in PSL again.when we asked who motivates him to do better ,smiled said Thembinkosi Lorch motivates him,he still remember a conversation he had with him when they were still playing for the same team (Maluti Fc).They promised each other that should one of use not make it as one of the best players in South African Football, They would know that they were both in the wrong career. Today,he is renowned as one of the best soccer players, this reminds and motivates him that,too can still make it.In 3 years s’ time ,he wants to see himself playing for one the 3 best teams in SA.He currently only need to win Dstv premier League. For Jomo Cosmos ,he learnt to listen and cooperate with senior players,to understand that there is a health Competition amongst players and he therefore passed these lessons to other players so that they too,can learn from him. Practically, there are technical differences in the way players play.professional players know where in the field they should be,when and doing what,there is a lot of space to play and they aren’t quick to come çlose to you for defense.Encouraging words regarding upcoming youngsters,for him said Behaviorally, the attitude is different. Professional players are more disciplined and ensure that they follow proper professional rules,also they must choose right friends, stay discipline, work hard and get enough slteam
His previous team is Hungry Lions ,Also his current team ,Harmony Fc,didn’t want to mention all teams he played.
